Weird Science Song Performed by Oingo Boingo from the Weird Science motion picture soundtrack.
About video:
Weird Science, our first music video due for our class, which was done shortly after Formula 99 was made. This video was really decided at the last minute as to what we were going to do. My basement had the ideal setup, because it is made to look like a movie theatre, so we felt that if we stood in front of the screen while we had some film footage running, it would give us a cool looking effect. For such a simple music video compared to "When Zombies Rock N' Roll", it did the job. It's a very basic music video, us jamming out pretending to sing and perform the song.
When everyone got to my house, ready to make this, we weren't even sure what song to do! It wasn't till the last minute that we decided on Weird Science, because we were all such fans of the 80s. The only problem is, since I was doing the lip singing, I didn't know the lyrics by heart. Didn't stop us though, you'll probably catch a few moments where I screw up. Overall it was fun making it. This was the first time we used Dillon in a video, and he sometimes needed a little encouragement, and it worked, because he's got some of the funniest shots in the video.
It was the editing process that still made us most excited when making these videos, because we were all still fairly new to it. Formula 99, was the first video we showed to our class, and they had never seen anything like it before. When this came up on the screen during class, they all thought it was a real music video from MTV or something at first. At least from Beavis and Butt-head, because being such a fan of the series, I included a little clip of it at the beginning of this. Because people were so blown away by Formula 99, we sometimes went out of hand with editing effects, and introductions to make it seem more professional. If there's anything about this video I could change, it would be that.
